The BA Donates Books to Egyptian Libraries Destroyed by Floods and Haitian Libraries Struck by the Earthquake

Alexandria—Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, expressed full solidarity with Egyptian cities in Sinai and Aswan exposed to floods, and with Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake that befell the country. He also offered condolence to the families of the victims lost in the two natural disasters.

Based on an initiative from the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries (IFLA-CASL), hosted at the BA, the BA works on donating different publications to the libraries in the destroyed places. Serageldin also urged Arabic libraries to participate in the initiative.
